Stuart has finally come along to the group to have a go at drawing and surprised himself. He has been unsure about putting pencil to paper but today he has produced a  fabulous picture of his MP3 player. Listening to music is one of his favourite pastimes.

David has been having a go at drawing on plywood and making willow forms

We have a real 'Mondrian' theme going on today! Andrew has really got the hang of drawing solid squares  on sheets of  plywood and creating some fabulous bright patterns with oil pastels.

Simon has been drawing with pencil on hard wood. His carefully thought out drawing  has been influenced by drystone walls and his time spent with the Open Country.

David enjoys working at Scope in Knaresborough. He has drawn a picture of the shop on the High Street.

Tuesday 12 March 2013

Tom is new to drawing. He has found some previously made willow patterns interesting and has been recreating these shapes. He has a particular eye for symbol like designs.

The Spitfire by Darell Eveans which is on display in our garden has caught Jonathan's eye. He is using felt-tips to recreate a camouflaged image of the plane.

Hannah is a real natural and has a love of the coast especially Tenby. Today she is exploring oil pastels by drawing on paper and sheets of wood. She say ' I much prefer drawing on wood than paper with the oil pastels as they go on a lot smoother!'

Liam loves trains, planes, cars and anything with an engine! He has been drawing the local train from Leeds to Harrogate. He also enjoys writing signs and text of destinations.

Wednesday 6 March 2013

Vicki is weaving wool around a willow circle as part of a project to produce an outdoor instillation in the Horticap garden. Vicki says " I like using the wool to weave because it is soft on my hands"

James is again producing an A1 masterpiece! Today he is drawing the 'Black Swan' pub in Burn Bridge where he visits with the gardening team. As the picture shows the season is Autumn and there are many leaves to clear!

Mark is drawing his version of a picture by Kasia Baczkowski whose work is showing here at Horticap. He loves the bright pink colour and the patterns that are drawn on top.
